All The Things That Chance Gives Us

Hanne Haller

Was in diesem Moment in der Metro geschieht

Was in diesem Moment in der Metro geschieht

All The Things That Chance Gives Us

In the metro at Place St. Michel at 9:30
Did I see him yesterday morning when he boarded?
And I noticed that he forgot his surroundings
Because he was eagerly reading the latest issue of Figaro

And so he drove me from station to station
Through Paris and quietly there I already hoped
That his goal might also be mine
Because I must say I really liked the man

All the things that chance gives us
These are the things you never think about

What I had just dared to quietly hope for
That he'll say something to me sometime
It came true because he asked politely
Mademoiselle s'il vous plaît is this Gare du Nord

And I felt embarrassed because I was so hot
But at the same moment, it's as cold as ice
He stood in front of me and laughed, and then he got out
And so did I, because this was truly my home

Since the day that proved the word destiny
Is there another couple in love in Paris?
And the city is so big that unfortunately you can't see
What is happening in the metro right now

All the things that chance gives us
These are the things you never think about

What came next was so beautiful and it's not over yet
Because everyday life around us is completely irrelevant to us
He forgot his train at Du Nord station
And I, too, cast aside my fear of happiness

Since the day that proved the word destiny
Is there another couple in love in Paris?
And the city is so big that unfortunately you can't see
What is happening in the metro right now
