Finda-se este dia que meu Pai me deu
Sombras vespertinas cobrem já o céu
Ó Jesus bendito, se comigo estás
Eu não temo a noite, vou dormir em paz
Com pecados, hoje, eu te entristeci
Mas perdão te peço por amor de Ti
Sou pequeno e frágil, livra-me do mal!
Que em Ti eu tenha proteção final
Guarda o marinheiro no violento mar
E ao que sofre dores queiras confortar
Ao tentado estende tua mão, Senhor!
Manda ao triste, aflito, o Consolador
Pelos pais e amigos, pela santa Lei
Pelo amor Divino, graças Te darei!
Ó Jesus, aceita minha petição
E, seguro, durmo sem perturbação. Amém
Night Prayer
This day that my Father gave me is over
Evening shadows already cover the sky
O blessed Jesus, if you are with me
I do not fear the night, I will sleep in peace
With sins today I have saddened you
But I ask your forgiveness for your sake
I am small and fragile, deliver me from evil!
May I have final protection in You
Guard the sailor in the violent sea
And to those who suffer pain, may you comfort them
To the tempted, extend your hand, Lord!
Send the Comforter to the sad and afflicted
For parents and friends, for the holy Law
For Divine love, I will give You thanks!
O Jesus, accept my petition
And, safe, I sleep without disturbance. Amen
