A Igrejinha
Em meu carro eu andava pela estrada
Com o rádio ligado a ouvir
Tentando esquecer os meus problemas
Nem mesmo a música me fazia me esquecer
Era enorme a sensação de um vazio
Desesperadamente pus-me a refletir
De repente eu avistei uma igrejinha
E um hino que eu ouvi dizia assim
Que prazer, temos nós de estar diante do Senhor
Para ouvir sua voz, voz tão meiga cheia de amor
No momento que eu entrei naquela igreja
Senti um calor que jamais senti igual
E o fulgor do brilho das pessoas
Era tão forte não sei como expressar
O ancião não falava de religião
Mas a palavra atingiu meu coração
Foi uma linda experiência com o próprio Deus
Agora canto um dos hinos que aprendi
Vida eterna, certo alcançarão
Lá no céu, os fiéis
A coroa, eles formarão
Ao redor dos Reis dos reis
E depois voltando para casa
Ainda sentindo um pedacinho do céu
Ai que saudade que eu sinto da igrejinha
Foi a coisa mais parecida com o céu
Que eu já vi, e agora
Sou feliz, sou feliz
Pois achei quem me conduz ao meu país
Mas feliz, mais feliz
Eu serei quando estiver no meu país
The Little Church
I was driving down the road
With the radio on, trying to hear
Trying to forget my problems
Not even the music could make me forget
The feeling of emptiness was huge
Desperately, I started to reflect
Suddenly, I spotted a little church
And a hymn I heard went like this
What a joy it is to be before the Lord
To hear His voice, a sweet voice full of love
The moment I stepped into that church
I felt a warmth like I’ve never felt before
And the glow of the people’s faces
Was so strong, I can’t even express it
The elder didn’t talk about religion
But the words hit my heart
It was a beautiful experience with God Himself
Now I sing one of the hymns I learned
Eternal life, they will surely attain
Up in heaven, the faithful
The crown, they will form
Around the King of kings
And then on my way back home
Still feeling a little piece of heaven
Oh, how I miss that little church
It was the closest thing to heaven
That I’ve ever seen, and now
I’m happy, I’m happy
Because I found the one who leads me to my home
But happier, even happier
I’ll be when I’m in my homeland
