Gone Too Far
We will not spiral down
I'll do whatever I can to stop that
three and a half years
of emotional rollercoaster's
is enough to decide that some things
are worth the effort spent
finally it's a realization
that dawned on both of us and
with enough effort and knowledge
of the past we don't need to follow
the path laid out by others
and it's gone too far
the words that guide us
take your voice away
and I guess we can still chastise
ourselves for taking too long to discover
what everybody else already knew
and all that was needed was the opening
of the blinkered eyes long enough to
register what was in front of us all along
I can't remember worse times
than when we were apart
we won't stumble
like we did before

Haré lo que sea para detener eso
tres años y medio
de montañas rusas emocionales
es suficiente para decidir que algunas cosas
valen el esfuerzo invertido
finalmente es una realización
que nos llegó a ambos y
con suficiente esfuerzo y conocimiento
del pasado no necesitamos seguir
el camino trazado por otros
y se fue demasiado lejos
las palabras que nos guían
se llevan tu voz
y supongo que todavía podemos reprendernos
por tardar demasiado en descubrir
lo que todos los demás ya sabían
todo lo que se necesitaba era abrir
los ojos vendados lo suficiente para
registrarnos lo que teníamos frente a nosotros todo el tiempo
No puedo recordar tiempos peores
que cuando estábamos separados
no tropezaremos
como lo hicimos antes
