Be true and list the voice within,
Be with us, gracious Lord, today;
This house we dedicate to Thee;
O hear Thy servants as they pray,
And let Thine ear attentive be!
Within these walls let holy peace,
Let love and truth be always found;
May burdened hearts and sweet release,
And souls with richest grace be crowned.
May here be heard the suppliant's sigh,
The weary enter into rest;
Here may the contrite to Thee cry,
And waiting souls be richly blessed.
Here when the Gospel sound is heard,
And here proclaimed the saving Name,
May hearts be quickened, moved and stirred,
And souls be kindled into flame.
Here may the dead be made to live,
The dumb to sing, the deaf to hear;
And do Thou to the humble give
Pardon and peace instead of fear.
Make this, O Lord, Thine own abode;
Thy presence in these courts be giv'n;
Be this, indeed, the house of God,
And this in truth the gate of Heav'n.

Estate con nosotros, Señor bondadoso, hoy;
Esta casa te dedicamos a Ti;
¡Oh, escucha a tus siervos mientras oran,
Y que tu oído esté atento!
Dentro de estas paredes que la paz santa reine,
Que el amor y la verdad siempre se encuentren;
Que los corazones cargados encuentren alivio,
Y las almas sean coronadas con la gracia más rica.
Que aquí se escuche el suspiro del suplicante,
Que el cansado entre en descanso;
Que el contrito clame a Ti,
Y las almas esperanzadas sean ricamente bendecidas.
Aquí, cuando se escuche el sonido del Evangelio,
Y se proclame el Nombre salvador,
Que los corazones sean avivados, movidos y conmovidos,
Y las almas sean encendidas en llamas.
Aquí que los muertos sean hechos vivir,
Los mudos canten, los sordos oigan;
Y a los humildes dales
Perdón y paz en lugar de miedo.
Haz de este lugar, Señor, tu morada;
Que tu presencia sea dada en estos recintos;
Que esta, en verdad, sea la casa de Dios,
Y esta, en verdad, la puerta del Cielo.
