La concha dice en el mar:
Yo mantengo una riqueza,
una prenda de belleza
por un brillo natural.
Yo valgo más que el coral,
que el diamante, que el rubí,

pues yo valgo dondequiera,
en regiones extranjeras
también me aprecian a mí.
Dicen que hubo o no hubo nada,
me voy pa'l yopo de madrugá',
de madrugada me voy pa'l yopo
porque el guayabo me vuelve loco.
Usted, usted, usted la mandó a poner,
que si la pone la paga y si no la pone también.
La pata 'e cabra se queja
y también el caracol,
pa' nosotros no hay dolor,
eso lo dice la almeja.
También la papa la reina cuenta
su historia pasada,
qué vida más desgraciada
echarnos Dios en el mundo
en estos mares profundos
donde no valemos nada.
Mis tres hermanos queridos
se los llevó la corriente,

¡qué caso tan dolorido!
Marchamos todos unidos
a bañarnos sin temor,
vino el río con su furor,
se los llevó muy ligero,
