The curanto

Isabel Parra

El curanto

Levántate, hombre flojo,
salí a pescar, salí a pescar,
que la mar está linda
pa' navegar, pa' navegar.

No puedo levantarme,
tengo mucha hambre
y el pescar con fatiga
va a malograrme.

Quiero comer curanto
con chapalele,
milcao, chicha 'e manzana
y aunque me vuele.

Los botes ya salieron
de la ensenada, de la ensenada,
y vos 'tai en la cama
sin hacer nada, sin hacer nada.

Es que he comido mucho
por lo derecho
y es malo hacer esfuerzo
tan satisfecho.

The curanto

Get up, lazy man,
Go fishing, go fishing,
The sea is beautiful
To sail, to sail.

I can't get up,
I'm very hungry
And fishing with fatigue
Is going to ruin me.

I want to eat curanto
With chapalele,
Milcao, apple cider
And even if I get drunk.

The boats have already left
From the cove, from the cove,
And you're in bed
Doing nothing, doing nothing.

It's because I've eaten a lot
Rightfully
And it's bad to make an effort
So satisfied.
