Romance for those who arrive

Jairo Lambari Fernandes

Romance for those who arrive

One of these days, Rosaflor looked at a dream
In the clear stream, next to the shade of the grove
She kept a kiss to deliver when she returned
And a word that was still a secret

Mariano Luna in the shed was preparing a mate
Taking care of a bay horse that was restless with a bridle
It was when the afternoon was painted with autumn
It was his beauty that appeared at the gate

Rosaflor arrived quietly as good news arrive
Breeze and sun, and a new day
And then she spoke of the many moons that would come
Until the ranch was filled with joy

Mariano Luna couldn't contain his smile
He had a mate and another without noticing
He passed his hand over his woman's belly
And saw that time had waits to deliver

All joy summed up in a hug
And in a silence like the calm of the countryside
When a clear song was heard from a mud puddle
Building the ranch in the shed window

It was a song of announcement they knew
Another couple building a ranch in the homeland
It was destiny delivering under the moonlight
To leave roots and descendants next to the flower

And Rosaflor spoke of the house and the dolls
Of the good things that this life would give them
Mariano Luna already thought of a new ranch
And of taming a little horse for the boy

Now it was just the time of these moons
That know well the right cycle of waits
To bring life in a smile of a boy
Or of another flower that will come with spring

One of these days Rosaflor looked at a dream
