In you, lord, is our hope and faith; but of you is our love
For one of these with you precedes the earth and stars above
Yes, love was there in the beginning Hov’ring as a dove
And, long before despair and doubt made hope and faith to prove
A holy triune dance of light and love was on the move
From love all beauty, truth, and goodness to creation flow
That you, your image bearers, may in pure relation know
But soon impurity would make us from the garden go
Until the final Adam shall another Eden sow
A kingdom of forgiveness where we see salvation grow
We’ve heard the great command to love you, Lord, and neighbor too
But you have seen how difficult this is for us to do
And so, our savior Jesus Christ commanded something new
To wash each other’s feet and love just as I have loved you
By this they’ll know we’re of you, Lord, o may our love be true

Y así, nuestro salvador Jesucristo mandó algo nuevo
Lavarnos los pies mutuamente y amar como yo los he amado
Por esto sabrán que somos de ti, Señor, oh que nuestro amor sea verdadero
