Ich glaub's bis heute kaum und kann nur immer staunen
Wenn ich den Weg den ich gegangen bin so seh'
Das Leben hat es gut gemeint trotz aller Launen
Auch da wo ich den Sinn nicht ganz versteh'
Kaum Großes sondern meistens sind's die kleinen Sachen
Die einen spüren lassen was Erfüllung heißt
Ein Lied ein Lächeln kann mich glücklich machen
Und wenn ein Knoten in betrübter Seele reißt
Helle Freude dunkles Leid
Starkes Leben darin spür’n
Und mit leiser Dankbarkeit
Auf das Schicksal reagier’n
Für den Freund der an mich glaubt
Für die Klänge die mich tragen
Glück das den Verstand mir raubt
Selbst für die Niederlagen
Für die Kraft
Die ich aus all dem tanke
Dafür sag ich dir und euch
Ganz einfach danke
Nichts gar nichts darf im Leben selbstverständlich scheinen
Es wird uns frei geschenkt ich nehm's in Demut an
Und bin nur dann mit mir und aller Welt im reinen
Wenn ich auch ander'n davon weitergeben kann

Nothing at all should be taken for granted in life
It is given to us freely, I accept it in humility
And only then am I at peace with myself and the whole world
