Jonah

Jonas

A Jonas veio a palavra dizendo: Levante meu servo e vai
Tomando o destino contrário, dizendo: Deus vai compreender

E disse: Me jogue no mar, e ficará tudo bem

Jonah

The word came to Jonah, saying: Rise up, my servant, and go
To the great city of Nineveh, and proclaim peace!
But he was terrified and refused to obey God
Taking the opposite path, saying: God will understand
The people there are brave, and I don't want to die!

But the sea became rough, and the ship almost sank!
And the sailors threw the ship lightly, relieving its weight
But Jonah, being the one to blame, was lying down and even fell asleep!

They sent for Jonah, who was sleeping in the cellar
And he ended up confessing that he was running away
And he said, Throw me into the sea, and everything will be alright
There's no need to rely on luck anymore, and no need to blame anyone!
When they threw the ball, the sea calmed down, see the power that God has!

But a fish swallowed him, and for three days he did not see the Sun!
After being thrown onto the beach of Nineveh, Jonah, repentant, preached
The king who was brave, whom Jonah feared, turned to God in humility and tears!
