Autrefois, je ne savais pas
Qu'il est des mots qu'on n'entend pas
Mais un soir une ombre est venue
Qui m'a dit: Écoute un peu plus
Une voix te parle aux mots inconnus
Entends-tu

Je m'en suis allé promener
Les peupliers se sont penchés
Pour me raconter des histoires
Qu'ils étaient les seuls à savoir
Et le vent et la mer
Doucement me parlaient
J'entendais

Et depuis j'ai vu des gens
Qui jetaient des mots à tous vents
Et qui discouraient sans parler
Qui entendaient sans écouter
En proposant des chants connus
Que nulle voix n'a jamais repris
Et leurs cris

Les hommes ne voient plus les fleurs
Ils en ont pris des rides au coeur
Ils espèrent en faisant du bruit
Meubler le vide de leur vie
Et même au ton, sans un bruit
En gouttes de rosée
Étouffées
Comme la voix du silence

Et je n'ose pas parler
De peur que mes mots se confondent
Avec le bruit que fait le Monde
