If the King Wants a Crown

Mesclat

Si El Rei Vol Corona

Fa tres segles que els borbons
pretenen ser els nostres reis
ignorant fins a quin punt
arribem a passar d'ells.

perquè no fóssim ximplets, perquè no fossim gosats,
perquè no fossim gosats, perquè no fóssim ximplets,

If the King Wants a Crown

For three centuries the Bourbons
have pretended to be our kings
ignoring just how far
we've come to ignore them.
But if they keep insisting
with this obsession,
we'll show them our
weakness for the round cut.

And it's not too pleasant
seeing someone walk the earth
who claims to represent you
but is softer than a slice of pork loin.
When the world sees the figure
we have as our oppressor,
more than solidarity
we awaken compassion.

If the King wants a crown, we'll give him a crown:
let him come to Barcelona and we'll cut off his head.

It's said that in Catalonia during Philip the Fifth's time
they banned all weapons, even knives,
only kitchen knives and at the table tightly bound,
because they didn't want us to be fools, because they didn't want us to be bold,
because they didn't want us to be bold, because they didn't want us to be fools,
to save the neck and the bean from the little Spanish soldiers.
But now this is ending, we've warned the squires.
