The Galaxy is safe now, the Empire's asleep
The actors have all gone home, the costumes in a heap
One by one the lights go out, it's quiet on the set
My scene was over hours ago but I haven't gone home yet
I'm a Star Wars Extra, they don't really need me
If I stay or if I go they'll still save the Galaxy
I've waited for this for quite some time, thought it would never come
My time was here and now it's gone, but I'm still having fun
I pretend I'm a Jedi Knight, searching for the Force
But it's all mirrors and special effects, it's not real of coarse
Now I'm flying a star ship watching stars go past
Long ago and far away, I'm here at last
A million suns and a thousand moons, I'll watch them rise and fall
Night and day on a thousand words, I wanna visit them all
But I'm just an extra, I'm not in a book
I'm not an action figure, I'm in the background, take a look
