John Vs. The Elephant
John wiped away the steamy mirror..
"Oh thanks god".. and proceeded to get ready for the taunts
he would face alone
Meet John Merrick..
he toyed with elephants that consumed his whole
body with imperfections
feared by the school queens.. he kept his head down
ran through the crowds of laughter, embarrassed
and he screamed, "STOP TEASING ME"
His dream was to be held by another..
"you're too ugly to hold, to ugly to love"
he held the up most beauty in his heart.
He got swept up beneath the city..
John left the town, in search of elephants that stomped his body
that left him with a life of humiliations.
They were nowhere to be found..
last night he looked deep inside, and found out the answers to why..
his tears caused the flood in which he sailed down
for years.. he found a piece of land..
where he was sure to live alone.
but, he met many more like himself that sailed down the very same flood
John still dreamt of the life he wanted, over and over again.
Make me feel like a man should..

Juan limpió el espejo empañado..
"Oh gracias a Dios".. y procedió a prepararse para las burlas
que enfrentaría solo

jugaba con elefantes que consumían todo su

temido por las reinas del colegio.. mantenía la cabeza baja
corría entre las multitudes de risas, avergonzado
y gritaba, "DEJA DE BURLARTE DE MÍ"
Su sueño era ser abrazado por otro..
"eres demasiado feo para abrazar, demasiado feo para amar"
tenía la mayor belleza en su corazón.
Se vio arrastrado bajo la ciudad..
Juan dejó la ciudad, en busca de elefantes que pisotearan su cuerpo
que lo dejaron con una vida de humillaciones.
No estaban en ninguna parte..
anoche miró profundamente en su interior, y descubrió las respuestas a por qué..
sus lágrimas causaron la inundación por la que navegó
durante años.. encontró un pedazo de tierra..
donde estaba seguro de vivir solo.
pero, conoció a muchos más como él que navegaban por la misma inundación
Juan aún soñaba con la vida que deseaba, una y otra vez.
