The Road
Deathbed…I made a deathbed out of piles of leaves
Deep in the forest where no one could see – I stumbled off of the road.
I stayed in that exact spot for a month or three; discovered animals I’d never seen
I gained their trust in good time
No I don’t know what happens next; singing – please just give me some rest
We’ve been traveling in this godforsaken land for more years than I care…
I care to recall.
One day…
One day I woke up and they all were gone; I waited for them to come back to me
I waited a damn long time.
Finally, when I decided that there was no hope, I left my deathbed and I found some rope
And did it all over again.
And I hung there for a good year, singing please let me disappear;
But the rope snapped and I crawled on all fours back onto the road…

El Camino
En mi lecho de muerte... hice un lecho de muerte con montones de hojas
En lo profundo del bosque donde nadie podía ver - me alejé del camino.
Permanecí en ese lugar exacto por un mes o tres; descubrí animales que nunca antes había visto
Gané su confianza con el tiempo
No sé qué sucederá a continuación; cantando - por favor, solo déjenme descansar
Hemos estado viajando en esta tierra maldita por más años de los que me importa...
Me importa recordar.
Un día...
Un día desperté y todos se habían ido; esperé a que regresaran a mí
Esperé un maldito largo tiempo.
Finalmente, cuando decidí que no había esperanza, dejé mi lecho de muerte y encontré una soga
Y lo hice todo de nuevo.
Y estuve allí colgado durante un buen año, cantando por favor déjenme desaparecer;
Pero la soga se rompió y gateé de nuevo sobre todas las patas de regreso al camino...
