Farewell Letter
Today, I will be leaving this town.
The book I borrowed is on the desk.
The orange knit is for my little sister.
The fish need to be fed twice a day.
I'm sorry for selfishly deciding all this on my own
but today was the time to leave,
not yesterday, and not tomorrow
Here, I've always been surrounded by wonderful people who've loved me
There will no replacement for and no equivalent of this town which
I will be leaving today
I've got to go before the church bells ring

Hoy, estaré dejando esta ciudad.
El libro que presté está en el escritorio.
El tejido naranja es para mi hermanita.
Los peces necesitan ser alimentados dos veces al día.
Lamento decidir todo esto egoístamente por mi cuenta,
pero hoy era el momento de irme,
no ayer, y no mañana.
Aquí, siempre he estado rodeado de gente maravillosa que me ha amado.
No habrá reemplazo ni equivalente para esta ciudad que
estaré dejando hoy.
Debo irme antes de que suenen las campanas de la iglesia.
