Lord my god! when i in awesome wonder
Consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, i hear the mighty thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed;

That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
When christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home- what joy shall fill my heart!

Je vois les étoiles, j'entends le tonnerre puissant,
Ta puissance à travers l'univers déployée ;

L'a envoyé mourir - j'ai du mal à le concevoir,
Que sur la croix, portant mon fardeau avec joie,
Il a saigné et est mort pour enlever mon péché :
Quand le Christ viendra avec un cri d'acclamation
Et me ramènera chez moi - quelle joie remplira mon cœur !
Alors je m'inclinerai en humble adoration
