Journal Entry
The sun came up in Memphis today.
I was driving, the only one awake.
I havent slept enough cause last night was pretty rough.
We broke down in Oklahoma and slept in some no name town.
This is the biggest sky I've ever seen
under a blanket of stars.
Are you thinking of me tonight, sweetheart ?
We drove today on the longest road I've ever seen.
Just shy of sixteen hours from Abilene.
The mountains loomed so high I could barely see the sky,
but in the dark I could see the milk of the Milky Way.
It's still a 1000 miles to Phoenix and I hope we get there on time,
but we've still got a lot of driving to do today.
Everyone is sleeping and I am all alone.
I'm looking out the window, thinking about the road.

El sol salió en Memphis hoy.
Estaba conduciendo, el único despierto.
No he dormido lo suficiente porque anoche fue bastante dura.
Nos quedamos varados en Oklahoma y dormimos en algún pueblo sin nombre.
Este es el cielo más grande que he visto
bajo un manto de estrellas.
¿Estás pensando en mí esta noche, cariño?
Condujimos hoy por la carretera más larga que he visto.
A solo unas horas de dieciséis desde Abilene.
Las montañas se alzaban tan altas que apenas podía ver el cielo,
pero en la oscuridad podía ver la leche de la Vía Láctea.
Todavía faltan 1000 millas para llegar a Phoenix y espero que lleguemos a tiempo,
pero todavía nos queda mucho camino por recorrer hoy.
Todos están durmiendo y yo estoy completamente solo.
Estoy mirando por la ventana, pensando en el camino.
