The Cat Came Back
Now, old Miss Johnson lived all alone,
had an ol' yeller cat that wouldn't leave home.
Tried ev'rything she knew to make the cat go away,
but the cat came back, the very next day;
thought he was a gonner, but the cat came back,
cause he wouldnt stay away.
She gave him to a boy goin out in a boat,
and she gave the boy a dollar just to send the cat afloat.
well, the boat tipped over, and the boy drowned,
2 miles away, they picked the boy up drowned,
but the cat came back, the very next day;
thought he was a gonner, but the cat came back,
cause he wouldn't stay away.
And she gave him to a man goin up in a balloon,
and asked for him to leave him with the man on the moon.
well, the balloon burst, an back to Earth it head,
6 miles away, they picked the man up dead,
but the cat came back, the very next day;
thought he was a gonner, but the cat came back,
cause he wouldn't stay away.

And she took him to the butcher when the butcher wasnt around,
and dropped him in the hopper when the butcher wasnt around.
Well, the cat let out, with a horrible shriek,
and the town's meat tasted furry for a week,

El Gato Regresó
Ahora, la vieja Señorita Johnson vivía completamente sola,
tenía un gato amarillo viejo que no quería irse de casa.
Intentó todo lo que sabía para hacer que el gato se fuera,
pero el gato regresó al día siguiente;
pensó que se había ido para siempre, pero el gato regresó,
pues no quería alejarse.
Lo dio a un chico que salía en un bote,
y le dio al chico un dólar solo para enviar al gato a la deriva.
Bueno, el bote se volteó, y el chico se ahogó,
a 2 millas de distancia, encontraron al chico ahogado,
pero el gato regresó al día siguiente;
pensó que se había ido para siempre, pero el gato regresó,
pues no quería alejarse.
Y se lo dio a un hombre que subía en un globo,
y le pidió que lo dejara con el hombre en la luna.
Bueno, el globo explotó, y de regreso a la Tierra se dirigió,
a 6 millas de distancia, encontraron al hombre muerto,
pero el gato regresó al día siguiente;
pensó que se había ido para siempre, pero el gato regresó,
pues no quería alejarse.

Y lo llevó al carnicero cuando el carnicero no estaba,
y lo dejó caer en la tolva cuando el carnicero no estaba.
Bueno, el gato salió con un grito horrible,
y la carne de la ciudad sabía a peluda por una semana,
