Águas se juntam nos altos
E descem aos saltos, por onde elas vão
Em claros límpidos fios
Deságuam no rio chamado Jordão!
Lá brancos lírios e rosas
Espalham preciosas fragrâncias florais
Onde o mel puro destila
E as ovelhas tranquilas descansam em paz!
E o bom pastor afungenta o lobo
E orienta o rebanho ao redil
Se falta uma, em sua conta
Procura e encontra a que escapuliu!
E ao doce e calmo aprisco
As ovelhas sem risco, então reconduz!

Waters join in the heights
And descend in leaps, wherever they go
In clear limpid threads

There white lilies and roses
Spread precious floral fragrances
Where pure honey distills

And the good shepherd drives away the wolf
And guides the flock to the fold
