Watch your TV and kill your brain.
Drink your beer and point the blame.
Smoke your cigarettes down to the stubs.
Getting trashed like a bunch of slobs.
You complain about the government and everything they say,
But don't you realize with your Anheuser Busch and Phillip Morris you're buying in?
Go to school, go to work, go to sleep, pay your rent.
Don't you see you're turning out like your parents?
Go to college, get a job, and buy a house and drive a car.
If you're lucky take your revolution and addictions along.
Have your life with all your thrills pay your taxes pay your bills.
Put yourself deeper into the grave.
Buy the shit that you don't need. Plant the corporate seed.
Can't you see you're keeping yourself enslaved?
Well I don't want to be part of your hypocrisy.
Cause I don't wanna support the things I say I hate,
cause that would make a hypocrite out of me.
See the protesters standing on the street, said they're fighting against global warming.
Then they jump into their cars and they drive away, I guess it's alright to support the things you say you hate.
I see the abortion doctors laying there in their blood, I hear the Christians screaming out "Well it's gods love".
We've got the peace-keeping missiles for fear, cause were fighting this war on terrorism.
You want the world to change, but you're going to stay the same.
It's so easy to complain in a world full of apathy.
Like in the famous words of Gandhi, "be the change in this world that you want to see" The revolution doesn't start with your neighbor, the revolution starts with me.
Without the government, without the legislation, without the senate hearings without conglomerations, without the congress man or womyn, without the lobbyist, without the house or representatives, or the president. Without governor, mayor, school board or police, state or county jurisdiction, without your family.
Cause this revolution starts with me.

Wees de Verandering
Kijk naar je tv en verdoof je brein.
Drink je bier en wijs met de vinger.
Rook je sigaretten tot de filters.
Word dronken als een stelletje sloddervossen.
Je klaagt over de overheid en alles wat ze zeggen,
Maar besef je niet dat je met je Anheuser Busch en Philip Morris meedoet?
Ga naar school, ga werken, ga slapen, betaal je huur.
Zie je niet dat je uitgroeit tot je ouders?
Ga naar de universiteit, krijg een baan, koop een huis en rijd een auto.
Als je geluk hebt, neem je je revolutie en verslavingen mee.
Leef je leven met al je opwinding, betaal je belastingen, betaal je rekeningen.
Steek jezelf dieper in het graf.
Koop de troep die je niet nodig hebt. Plant het bedrijfszaad.
Zie je niet dat je jezelf in slavernij houdt?
Nou, ik wil geen deel uitmaken van jouw hypocrisie.
Want ik wil de dingen die ik haat niet steunen,
want dat zou me tot een hypocriet maken.
Zie de demonstranten staan op straat, ze zeggen dat ze vechten tegen de opwarming van de aarde.
Dan springen ze in hun auto en rijden weg, ik denk dat het wel oké is om de dingen te steunen die je haat.
Ik zie de abortusartsen daar liggen in hun bloed, ik hoor de christenen schreeuwen: "Nou, het is gods liefde".
We hebben de vredesmissiles uit angst, want we vechten deze oorlog tegen terrorisme.
Je wilt dat de wereld verandert, maar jij blijft hetzelfde.
Het is zo makkelijk om te klagen in een wereld vol apathie.
Zoals in de beroemde woorden van Gandhi: "Wees de verandering in deze wereld die je wilt zien". De revolutie begint niet bij je buurman, de revolutie begint bij mij.
Zonder de overheid, zonder de wetgeving, zonder de senaatszittingen, zonder conglomeraten, zonder de congresman of -vrouw, zonder de lobbyist, zonder het huis van vertegenwoordigers, of de president. Zonder gouverneur, burgemeester, schoolbestuur of politie, staat of county jurisdictie, zonder je familie.
Want deze revolutie begint bij mij.
Want ik moet de verandering zijn die ik wil zien.
