How long, how long, how long?
Hope deferred makes the heart sick
Who can bear a broken spirit?
How long O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul?
Consider and hear me O Lord my God
Enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death
But I have trusted in Your mercy
I will sing to the Lord
Because He has dealt bountifully with me
When he opened the fifth seal
I saw under the altar the souls
Slain for the word of God
And testimony they held
They cried with a loud voice saying
How long O Lord, holy and true
Until you judge and avenge our blood
On those who dwell on the earth?
Rest a little while longer, brethren

Considera y escúchame, oh Señor mi Dios
Ilumina mis ojos, no sea que duerma el sueño de la muerte
Pero he confiado en tu misericordia
Cantaré al Señor
Porque ha obrado abundantemente conmigo
Cuando abrió el quinto sello
Vi bajo el altar las almas
Asesinadas por la palabra de Dios
Y el testimonio que sostenían
Clamaban con voz potente diciendo
¿Cuánto tiempo, oh Señor, santo y verdadero,
Hasta que juzgues y vengues nuestra sangre
Sobre los que habitan en la tierra?
