Le Taureau

El Toro

Il y a une légende d'un matador célèbreThere's a legend of a famous matador
Qui est allé affronter le TaureauWho went to meet El Toro
Bien qu'il se soit battu comme jamais auparavantThough he fought as he had never done before
Il n'a pas pu vaincre le TaureauHe could not beat El Toro

Le taureau El Toro lui a apporté défaite et douleurThe bull El Toro brought him defeat and pain
Et à son grand chagrin, le matador a connu la honteAnd to his sorrow, the matador knew shame

On disait que le temps ne guérirait jamais les nombreuses cicatricesThey said time would never heal the many scars
Causées par le grand El ToroBrought by the great El Toro
Et l'amertume qui brûlait au fond de son cœurAnd the bitterness that burned deep in his heart
L'a poussé à haïr El ToroCaused him to hate El Toro

Le taureau El Toro lui a apporté défaite et douleurThe bull El Toro brought him defeat and pain
Et à son grand chagrin, le matador a connu la honteAnd to his sorrow, the matador knew shame

Alors une nuit, quand personne n'était en vueSo one night, when no-one was on sight
Le matador est allé régler ses comptesThe matador, went to settle the score
Dans les champs solitaires, sous la pâle lumière de la luneIn the lonely fields, beneath the pale moonlight
Il a cherché le taureau et ils se sont battus à nouveauHe sought the bull and they fought once more

Quand ils ont trouvé le matador et l'ont vu mourirWhen they found the matador and saw him dying
Il ne verrait jamais demainHe'd never see tomorrow
Maintenant, on dit qu'à l'endroit où il était allongéNow they say that on the spot where he was lying
Le fier El Toro marche encoreStill walks the proud El Toro

Le taureau El Toro lui a apporté défaite et douleurThe bull El Toro brought him defeat and pain
Et à son grand chagrin, le matador a connu la honteAnd to his sorrow, the matador knew shame
