Entonces la crueldad teje la trampaThen cruelty knits the snare
Y esparce sus cebos con cuidadoAnd spreads his baits with care

Se sienta con temores sagradosHe sits down with holy fears
Y riega la tierra con lágrimasAnd waters the ground with tears
Entonces la humildad echa raícesThen humility takes its root
Debajo de su pieUnderneath his foot

Pronto se extiende la sombra sombríaSoon spreads the dismal shade
De misterio sobre su cabezaOf mistery over his head
Y el gusano y la moscaAnd the caterpillar and fly
Se alimentan del misterioFeed on the mistery

Y da frutos engañososAnd it bears the fruit deceit
Rojizos y dulces de comerRuddy and sweet to eat
Y el cuervo ha hecho su nidoAnd the raven his nest has made
En su sombra más espesaIn its thickest shade
