The stand

Der Stand

The stand

Du standest vor der SchöpfungYou stood before creation
Ewigkeit in deiner HandEternity in your hand
Du sprachst die Erde in BewegungYou spoke the earth into motion
Meine Seele soll nun stehenMy soul now to stand

Du standest vor meinem VersagenYou stood before my failure
Und trugst das Kreuz für meine SchamAnd carried the cross for my shame
Meine Sünde lastete auf deinen SchulternMy sin weighed upon Your shoulders
Meine Seele soll nun stehenMy soul now to stand

Was kann ich sagenSo what can I say
Und was kann ich tunAnd what can I do
Außer dir, o Gott, dieses Herz zu bietenBut offer this heart O God
Vollständig dir zugehörenCompletely to You

So werde ich auf dem Weg der Rettung gehenSo I'll walk upon salvation
Dein Geist lebt in mirYour Spirit alive in me
Dieses Leben, um dein Versprechen zu verkündenThis life to declare Your promise
Meine Seele soll nun stehenMy soul now to stand

So werde ich stehenSo I'll stand
Mit erhobenen Armen und einem verlassenen HerzenWith arms high and heart abandoned
In Ehrfurcht vor dem, der alles gabIn awe of the One who gave it all
Ich werde stehenI'll stand
Meine Seele, Herr, dir übergebenMy soul Lord to You surrendered
Alles, was ich bin, gehört dir.All I am is Yours
