Every time a day goes by Bridie comes to mind.
Maybe cause I'm stupid or irate.
I'd rather face the future with undefective eyes.
Cause I can see no solace in the past.

Bridie had a friend she couldn't keep.
Crooked was the eye that failed to see.
Dad was a drunk who never knew the state of the man that he got to.
Sat on the edge of a lesser shelf.
The man only lived cause he knew.
No tape parade and no fuss made.
The dead beats allowed and I'm so proud.

Think of now old loves old friends,
Old meanings pass us by.
All your tricks don't interest me at all.
Every other dealing done with every other high,
Sends me right back waiting for a chance.

Facing fact is none to bad with curtains on my side.
Happy now that what was done's denied.
Never mind the seed has gone through coloured glass I see.
