And there I was, entertained by the so fun lifeE eu ali tava entretido com o viver tão divertido
Of these little animalsDa vida desses bichinhos

Then an old black man came, bringing a little black boyNisso veio um negro velho e também trazia um negrinho
And the boy had a cage with a little animal insideE este tinha uma gaiola e dentro dela um bichinho
I asked, 'What animal is this?' He said, 'This is a canary'Perguntei que bicho é este? Diz ele este é um canarinho
