Dark Iniseoghain

Dunkles Iniseoghain

Dark Iniseoghain

Die schönen Maidens und die so traurigen BurschenThe maidens of beauty and swains so forlorn
Die sorglos von zu Hause wegwandernThat carelessly wander away from your home
Ich bin fort im Mondlicht und beim MorgengrauenI am off by the moonlight and break of the morning
Ich werde in den Bergen des dunklen Iniseoghain gefundenI'll be found in the mountains of dark Iniseoghain

Ich irrte zu einem Ort, den sie süß Clonmany nennenI strayed to a place they call sweet Clonmany
Auf der Suche nach einer Schönen, die ich verehren könnteIn search of a fair one that I might adore
Doch eine Maid, die mich lieben könnte, fand ich nichtBut a maiden to love me, I couldn't find any
Von der Meendoran-Brücke bis zum Gap von MamoreFrom Meendoran Bridge to the Gap of Mamore

Doch dann fand ich dich im Schatten des alten BarnanBut then in the shades of old Barnan I found you
Dieses Tal, überschattet von so grandiosen BergenThat valley o'ershadowed by mountains so grand
Und ich betete, dass Gottes Engel dich stets beschützenAnd I prayed that God's angels would ever protect you
Und ich legte ein Andenken in deine kleine weiße HandAnd I placed a keepsake in your little white hand

Und jetzt bin ich stationiert im County FermanaghAnd now I am stationed in County Fermanagh
Weit weg von der Schönen, die ich verehreFar from the fair one that I do adore
Doch wenn ich zurückkehre, wird es zu meiner Liebsten seinBut when I return it will be to my dear one
Die ich in den Bergen des dunklen Iniseoghain zurückgelassen habeThat I left in the mountains of dark Iniseoghain
