Mother's Arms

It's been a year since I’ve seen mama
And even though we talk everyday
There's nothing like a mother's arms to hold you
When you’re living through the trials of these days

I go out walking every morning
Searching for something close to peace
It's simple as a bird perched on a wire
Or the way the winter light moves through the leaves

I wish that I had answers for my daughters
As we stumble through the looking glass of screens
And the little onе keeps asking why we can't go
