As This Parade Keeps Marching On

All these words I said came from the heart.
They'll go unheard as this parade keeps marching on.
I guess it's all in vain.
I read each page but see no signs.
We'll all go blind from TV screens
and consume all until we die
before we will realize there's something wrong
with victories achieved by loss of life.
These distant
words come ten minutes too late.
Fallen from lies that
we must escape, that we all embrace.
Is this for the
best? Is this where we go?
I'm blinded and I can't
find my way through the smoke. Can we believe it will
work this time or will the same problems grow like
they did the last guy?
State funded crooks reap on
death. Politicians serve to protect business interests
and turn a blind eye to dead constituents.
A toast to
wealth, some kids get killed;
one trillion made as
more blood is spilled.
