Brushstrokes

You draw the lines on which I balance
It’s a colourful road to go down
I walk past elephants and rainbows
Broken gardens, carousels, whistling sounds
and ringing bells

You paint the sky red
It burns my eyes to look
On the endless wandering clouds
Heading towards something like
young adventurous birds

I’m lost in your brushstrokes

I’m the underdog
All is out of my hands
Cut the trees that grow in me

Break down all that dwells in me

I rest on tricky minefields
