Shadows

Is it all in my head
All the things that I’ve seen
Brought on by my world crashing down on me
My face in the mirror
So black and cold
Staring straight through me, into my soul

It seems to me this world has gone insane
Hear these words in my head, over and over again
The world I see, is so black and white to me
Perception based on what I believe
Being weighed and measured, found wanting
The shadows are coming

The greatest fight between dark and light
Choose your side, against the world
Stand your ground, do not back down
Or else you just might fall

Feel their grip tighten around my neck
As I’m drawn to a place that I can never forget
In a flash of gray, the pain fades away
It’s so hard to breath knowing their coming for me
