Do They Know It's Christmas? (2014)

Weten Ze Wel Dat Het Kerstmis Is? (2014)

Do They Know It's Christmas? (2014)

Het is kersttijdIt's Christmas time
Er is geen reden om bang te zijnThere's no need to be afraid
In de kersttijd laten we het licht binnen en verdrijven we de schaduwAt Christmas time we let in light and banish shade
En in onze wereld van overvloedAnd in our world of plenty
Kunnen we een glimlach van vreugde verspreidenWe can spread a smile of joy
Sla je armen om de wereld heenThrow your arms around the world
In de kersttijdAt Christmas time

Maar zeg een gebedBut say a prayer
Bid voor de anderenPray for the other ones
In de kersttijd is het moeilijk, maar terwijl jij plezier hebtAt Christmas time, it's hard, but while you're having fun
Is er een wereld buiten je raamThere's a world outside your window
En het is een wereld vol angst en vreesAnd it's a world of dread and fear

Waar een kus van liefde je kan dodenWhere a kiss of love can kill you
En er is dood in elke traanAnd there's death in every tear
En de kerstklokken die daar luidenAnd the Christmas bells that ring there
Zijn de dreigende klokken van ondergangAre the clanging chimes of doom
Nou, vanavond reiken we uit en raken we je aanWell, tonight we're reaching out and touching you

Breng vrede en vreugde deze kerst naar West-AfrikaBring peace and joy this Christmas to West Africa
Een lied van hoop en er is vanavond geen hoop, oohA song of hope and there's no hope tonight, ooh
Waarom moet het eerste wat komt gevreesd worden? Why is coming first to be feared?
Waarom moet aanraken eng zijn? Why is to touch to be scared?
Hoe kunnen ze weten dat het kersttijd is?How can they know it's Christmas time at all?

Proost op jouHere's to you
Heft een glas voor iedereenRaise a glass to everyone
Proost op henHere's to them
En al hun komende jarenAnd all their years to come
Hoe weten ze dat het kersttijd is?How they know it's Christmas time at all?

Voed de wereld, laat ze weten dat het kersttijd isFeed the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Voel de wereld, laat ze weten dat het kersttijd isFeel the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Genees de wereld, laat ze weten dat het kersttijd isHeal the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
