There's this lonesome road close to my hometown
That, ever since I was a boy, I've been driving along
Once it lead me to school and later far away
Now whenever I come back, it means home to me

When I was a kid life played on the streets
Father always dressed me in my ol' torn jeans
Later he taught me how to ride my bike
And to swear like a man fearing for my life

Those were the times, untroubled and free
Nothing like today's reality
Wouldn't wanna miss a single memory
They shaped the man I became to be
