I wake up. And I feel pretty queasy.Ich wache auf. Und ich fühl' mich ganz schön flau.
No wonder, 'cause yesterday I was, as much as I remember, shitfaced.Kein Wunder, denn gestern war ich, so viel weiß ich noch, hackeblau.
But how it came to that, I don't remember so well.Doch wie es dazu kam, weiß ich nicht mehr so genau.
And above all, who the hell is this woman anyway?Und vor allem überhaupt: Sag mal, wer ist eigentlich diese Frau?

because I have a bad memory...denn ich habe ein schlechtes Gedächtnis...

Where am I anyway? What kind of room is this?Wo bin ich überhaupt? Was is'n das für'n Raum?
Maybe this is all just a bad dream.Vielleicht ist das alles nur ein böser Traum.

I climb out of bed, pretty quick despite the hangover.Ich kletter' aus'm Bett, trotz Kater ziemlich zackig.
But as I do that, I realize: I'm butt naked!Doch während ich das tue, merk' ich: Ich bin ja nackig!
Doesn't matter, I gotta go! I need a hiding spot!Egal, ich muß weg! Ich brauch' jetzt erstmal ein Versteck!

But where should I go, like this?Aber wo soll ich hin, so wie ich bin?
In the closet! At least there are clothes in there.In den Schrank! Da sind wenigstens Kleider drin.
But unfortunately, I'm way too big for the closet.Aber leider bin ich für den Schrank viel zu groß.
What should I do, man?! What the hell do I do?!Was soll ich machen, Mann?! Was mach' ich bloß?!
I got it: I'll hide under the bed! Ha! Good idea!Ich hab's: Ich versteck mich unter'm Bett! Ha! Gute Idee!

I lie shivering under the bed and start to pray.Ich liege bibbernd unter'm Bett und fange an zu beten.
I already see his legs entering the room.Schon seh' ich seine Beine den Raum betreten.
He quickly approaches me.Er kommt im Nu direkt auf mich zu.
And ten centimeters separate me from his shoe.Und zehn Zentimeter trennen mich von seinem Schuh.
He sticks his head under the bed and spots me.Da steckt er seinen Kopf unter's Bett und hat mich entdeckt.

when I hear the doorbell ring again.da hör' ich schon wieder die Türklingel schellen.
The woman rushes in and whispers: 'Quick!Die Frau stürzt rein und flüstert: „Schnell!
This time it's really Daniel!'Das ist diesmal wirklich Daniel!"

Great! Fantastic! That was to be expected!Na toll! Super! Das war ja zu erwarten!
I beg Kalle not to rat me out!Ich flehe Kalle an, mich bitte nicht zu verraten!
'I got this!', Kalle reassures me.„Ich mach das schon!", beruhigt mich Kalle.

I say: 'No, it's okay!'Ich sag: „Nee, ist ok!"

Then Daniel comes through the door, turns into a beastDa kommt der Daniel durch die Tür, mutiert zum Tier
and yells: 'Who are you?! What are you doing here?!'und schreit: „Wer sind Sie?! Was machen Sie hier?!"
Kalle stands there with a poker faceKalle steht da mit Pokerface
and answers cool and truthfully,und antwortet cool und wahrheitsgemäß,
he's an inspector from the IRS.er sei ein Inspektor von der GEZ.

Daniel yells: 'They all say that!'Daniel schreit: „Das sagen sie alle!"
'Here's my ID,' says Kalle.„Hier ist mein Ausweis.", sagt Kalle.
But that doesn't seem to interest Daniel,Doch der scheint für den Daniel nicht weiter von Interesse,
because he first punches poor Kalle in the face,denn er haut dem armen Kalle erstmal tierisch auf die Fresse,
knocking him down because of the shock.was den, weil ihm der Schreck in den Gliedern steckt, niederstreckt.

Now he starts to strangle Kalle!Jetzt fängt er auch noch an, den Kalle zu würgen!
Oh my god! I have to somehowOgottogott! Ich muß ihm irgend-
help him! But how?!wie helfen! Aber wie?!
Well, doesn't matter! Now or never!Na, ist egal! Jetzt oder nie!
I gather my courage and climb out of my hiding spot.Ich fasse mir ein Herz und klettere aus meinem Versteck.

He hasn't spotted me yet.Noch hat er mich nicht entdeckt.
I do something that really scares him:Ich mach was, was ihn richtig erschreckt:
I stand there, stark naked,Ich stell mich, so wie Gott mich schuf,
behind him and shout:hinter ihm auf und ruf':
'Me Daniel, strangle me!„Mich Daniel, erwürget!

When he hears that, he actuallyAls er das hört, hört er darauf
stops strangling Kalle.tatsächlich den Kalle zu würgen auf.
He looks around, notices me,Er blickt sich um, wird meiner gewahr,
completely stunned.ganz und gar vor Erstaunen starr.
Only his jawLediglich sein Unterkiefer
drops a whole lot lower.senkt sich ein ganzes Stück tiefer.

Kalle, on the other hand, finds this very convenient,Kalle hingegen kommt das sehr gelegen,
because now he can move again.denn er kann sich jetzt wieder bewegen.
He doesn't hesitate, the anxious tyrantEr fackelt nicht lange, dem bangen Tyrannen
gets a good smack on the cheek.mit Schmackes voll eins an die Wange zu langen.
Now Daniel's jawJetzt ist Daniels Kiefer
is a whole lot more crooked.auch noch ein ganzes Stück schiefer.

He staggers and bangs his head hardEr taumelt und knallt mit dem Schädel hart
against the nearby TV set.gegen den nebenstehenden Fernsehapparat.
Like moths around a streetlight,Wie Motten um eine Straßenlaterne
stars circle his forehead.kreisen um seine Stirne Sterne.
The TV and especiallyDer Fernseher und erst recht

and I hug him back.und ich ihn in meinen.
So we stand there, without shame,So stehen wir da, ganz ohne Scham,
and cry.und weinen.

Daniel watches the two of usDaniel beobachtet uns zwei
And before he faints,Und bevor er in Ohnmacht fällt,
