The network has you on the run
Everywhere you look people are having fun
This system's sickening
I'm looking for a route
To get out

When I was 17 the world seemed without bounds
The days to freedom I would count
And when it soon arrived I thought that I would die
And that was fine

And on the map I marked an x
The very place where my innocence rests
A place of thorn and weeds
A place where no one sees
For the trees

The hardest part was where to rest
You find out that life is just one dull, lonesome test
But you can't deny the times you waited for a sign
That you'd arrived
