stagnant lives
all kept in place
by those who say
9-5 makes them stronger
they say the same shit everyday
they don't even know their names
forgotten in false promises of reaching so much more
silent cries
drowned inside
conditional minds
bent on profits of the day
seems all will has been erased
by the rules they will not break
they're taught to expect an empty life
can you blame them
blinders blocking out all other direction
their shattered dreams are kept in place
by the certainty the routine keep always makes them
follow through with full intent on keeping up
with those ahead
trade their lives for endless races
