What It Was

A lonely mother stares out a window,
see's nothing but want to know.
Holds a photo of her and her sons.
Regrets the day she let them go.
Ones dyin, ones gettin by,
and the other mad by the world.
Starvin for love from childs heart.
She raises a strangers girl.

Years go by, still asking why and never find out.
She hears her sons laugh and play, but never hears a sound.

Ten years ago and full of dope and a mother nowhere near.
Seeing nothing with open eyes.
Blind for many years.
