[?] A hundred poor [?], I work all day, I hardly have no time to play
I only have time to take a piss, there must be more to live than this
I caught Sally in a lie; I caught her with another guy
She promised they was only friends, that is where our story ends

Last night I went to the bar, I walked there, it wasn't far
I knew nobody in the place but I wore a disguise just in case
My enemies are all around; they wanna put me under ground
They wanna kill me and what's worse; I think they plan to hurt me first

So much rain is falling down; the crops have rotted in the ground
Mortgage due, the end of May, perhaps I look the other way
Get that son of mine to work, that boy'll drive me plum berserk
Told him go to pick some hay, next thing I heard him drive away

Doctor's taken awful sick; he's scheduled to die next week
He's already blind and out of his head but I'd never thought we'd see him dead
This town has gone from bad to worse; sometimes I think it must be cursed
These folks are ruled by greed and fear; we need some law and order here
