Jonás dijo, 'Sí, señor, les daré el mensaje'Jonah said, "Yes lord, I'll give 'em the message"

Y tragándose a Jonás se sumergió en lo profundo del océanoAnd swallowin' up Jonah dove deep in the ocean
Por tres días y tres noches en su cavernoso estómago, pobre Jonás flotaba en carne de pez y salmueraFor three days and three nights in it's cavernous gullet, poor Jonah floated in fish meat and brine
Despertó en la orilla de algún país desconocidoHe awoke on the shore of some unknown country
Podría haber sido América: apuesto a que lo fueIt might have been America: I bet that it was
Pero de alguna manera regresó a su amada ciudad y entregó el mensaje como el señor había pedidoBut somehow he got back to his beloved city and delivered the message as the lord had requested

Bueno, todo salió bien; no hubo grandes repercusionesWell, it worked out ok; no big repercussions
No creo que haya ayudado mucho, al menos a largo plazoI don't think it helped much, least not in the long run
