The Moon

Sometimes, when my throat is empty
I look at the Moon, thinking: Isn't that so pretty?
'Cause I know I'll be home soon
And when I'm fading quickly, the longest day is done

What I have placed to get to, for my work has only just begun
And guarding me from elegantly decomposing
Is the silver quiet thought that someplace else you've chosen
That same empty moment to watch the Moon with me
That same frozen shadow while you're waiting patiently
And I will look out above me, and I'll think: Isn't that pretty?
