Levántense, afligidos!Arise, ye drooping mourners!
El Rey está muy cerca;The King is very near;
Fuera con la tristeza y el dolor,Away with grief and sorrow,
Porque ¡aquí está vuestra Ayuda!For lo! your Help is here.
Miren, en muchos lugares—Behold, in many a place—
Lo encontramos, nuestra Salvación,We find Him, our Salvation,
¡Oh, consuelo bendito!O blessed consolation!
En sus puros medios de gracia.In His pure means of grace.

Levántense, muy afligidos!Arise, ye much afflicted!
El Rey ahora no está lejos;The King is now not far;
¡Alégrense, largamente abatidos!Rejoice, ye long dejected!
Aquí viene la Estrella de la Mañana.Here comes the Morning Star.
El Señor les dará alegría;The Lord will give you joy;
Aunque los problemas los angustien ahora,Though troubles now distress you,
Con consuelo los bendecirá,With comfort He will bless you,
Incluso la muerte destruirá.E’en death He will destroy.

Ahora escuchen, osados transgresores,Now hear, ye bold transgressors,
El Rey presta atenciónThe King does well give heed
A todo lo que hacen,To all that ye are doing,
Y a la vida que llevan,And to the life ye lead,
Esclavizados al pecado e infierno;Enthralled to sin and hell;
Nada en toda la creaciónNothing in all creation
Escapa a su observación,Escapes His observation
Todo lo marca bien.He marketh all things well.

Sean justos, ustedes sus súbditos,Be righteous, ye His subjects,
El Rey es justo y verdadero;The King is just and true;
Preparen para Él un camino,Prepare for Him a highway,
Hagan todas las cosas rectas y nuevas.Make all things straight and new.
Él lo hace todo por nuestro bien,He means all for our good
Entonces llevemos nuestras crucesThen let us bear our crosses
Que Él mismo impone,That He Himself imposes,
Con ánimo intrépido.In an undaunted mood.

Aunque la guerra y la conflagraciónThough war and conflagration
Nos quiten todos nuestros bienes;Take all our goods away;
El Señor es nuestra salvaciónThe Lord is our salvation
Y herencia por siempre.And heritage for aye.
Aunque nuestros seres queridos mueran,E’en though our loved ones die,
No son abandonados,Yet they are not forsaken,
Sino que son llevadosBut from this world are taken
A vivir con Dios en lo alto.To live with God on high

Levántense, pobres y necesitados!Arise, ye poor and needy!
El Rey provee para ustedes;The King provides for you;
Viene con ayuda rápida,He comes with succor speedy,
Con misericordia siempre nueva.With mercy ever new.
Él, que cuidó de una bestia,He Who a beast did heed
No deja perecer a sus hijos;Lets not His children perish;
Todas las esperanzas que el hombre pueda tenerAll hopes that man may cherish
Él puede cumplirlas de verdad.He can fulfill indeed.

Nunca abandonaHe nevermore forsaketh
A un hijo que siente el castigo,A child that feels the rod,
Que lo hace su refugio,Who Him his refuge maketh,
Y pone su confianza en Dios.And puts his trust in God.
Él es nuestro Rey soberano;He is our sovereign King;
Incluso la muerte misma nuncaE’en death itself shall never
Separará a aquellos de su MaestroThose from their Master sever
Que se aferran a su misericordia.Who to His mercy cling.

Levántense, débiles y temerosos!Arise, ye faint and fearful!
El Rey ahora viene con poder,The King now comes with might,
Su corazón nos ha amado desde hace tiempo,His heart hath long since loved us,
Él convierte nuestra oscuridad en luz.He makes our darkness light.
Ahora han terminado nuestras penas;Now are our sorrows o’er;
Ninguna ira nos sobrevendrá,No wrath shall e’er befall us,
Pues Dios en su gracia nos llamaSince God in grace doth call us
Sus hijos por siempre.His children evermore.

Apresúrense, con pasos ansiosos,Haste then, with eager footsteps,
A ver a su Soberano allí!To see your Sovereign there!
Él cabalga como Rey de Sion,He rides as King of Zion,
Fuerte, glorioso, humilde y bello.Strong, glorious, meek and fair.
Acérquense al Señor y denleDraw near the Lord and give
Su saludo,To Him your salutation,
Quien trae gran salvación,Who bringeth great salvation,
Y ordena al pecador vivir.And bids the sinner live.

El Rey en su gracia recuerdaThe King in grace remembers
A sus amados aquí abajoHis loved ones here below
Con regalos de tesoros reales,With gifts of royal treasures,
Sí, Él mismo los otorgaYea, doth Himself bestow
A través de su bendita Palabra y gracia.Through His blest Word and grace.
Oh Rey, vestido de esplendor,O King, arrayed in splendor,
A ti toda alabanza rendiremosTo Thee all praise we’ll render
Aquí y allá cara a cara.Here and there face to face.

Oh ricos los regalos que nos traes,O rich the gifts Thou bring’st us,
Tú mismo hecho pobre y débil;Thyself made poor and weak;
Oh Amor más allá de toda expresiónO Love beyond expression
Que así puede buscar a los pecadores!That thus can sinners seek!
Por esto, oh Señor, te ofreceremosFor this, O Lord, will we
