Qué sólido fundamento, oh santos del Señor,How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Está establecido para su fe en Su excelente Palabra!Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
¿Qué más puede Él decir que lo que ya les ha dicho,What more can He say than to you He hath said,
Ustedes, que a Jesús como refugio han acudido?You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?

En toda condición, en enfermedad, en salud;In every condition, in sickness, in health;
En el valle de la pobreza, o abundando en riqueza;In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth;
En casa y en el extranjero, en tierra y en mar,At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
Según tus días lo requieran, siempre estará tu fuerza.As thy days may demand, shall thy strength ever be.

No temas, estoy contigo, no te desanimes,Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,
Porque soy tu Dios y aún te daré ayuda;For I am thy God and will still give thee aid;
Te fortaleceré y te ayudaré, y te haré permanecerI’ll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand
Sostenido por Mi mano justa y omnipotente.Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

Cuando a través de aguas profundas te llame a ir,When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
Los ríos de aflicción no te inundarán;The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;
Porque estaré contigo, para bendecir tus problemas,For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
Y santificar para ti tu mayor angustia.And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

Cuando a través de pruebas ardientes se encuentren tus caminos,When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
Mi gracia, suficiente, será tu provisión;My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
La llama no te dañará; solo pretendoThe flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Consumir tu escoria, y refinar tu oro.Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.

Incluso en la vejez, todo Mi pueblo probaráEven down to old age all My people shall prove
Mi amor soberano, eterno, inmutable;My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
Y cuando las canas adornen sus sienes,And when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
Como corderos aún serán llevados en Mi regazo.Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be borne.

El alma que en Jesús ha confiado para descansar,The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
No la abandonaré, no la abandonaré a sus enemigos;I will not, I will not desert to its foes;
Esa alma, aunque todo el infierno intente sacudirla,That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
Nunca, jamás, jamás la abandonaré.I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.
