Streetlights

I don't walk down by the river

Or those pretty back roads where no one else goes

I don't cut through the park after it's dark

How quickly these little towns grow

Will you go walking with me tonight

I used to think i was fine if i stayed with the streetlights

But i've seen how much help a streetlight can be

Would you go walking with me

I know i should not talk to strangers

Or be out late at night all alone

I shouldn't sing songs that might lead you on

Maybe i shouldn't leave home

If i wish on a star tonight

I will wish through the walls where those stars might be

Cause my little town one night let me down

And i found a big city street.
