Forget the likes of texts and tomes and old photos
The things we learned don’t make a bit of difference
And all we know is a few brave souls
Will try to break the cycle
Falling into the same old ruts we found before
We always said we’d learn from our own past
Swimming against the currents of history
Make these mistakes with me
Can evolution last through modernity
Make these mistakes without me
Overlooking the past few centuries (on and on intent to keep us)
Can you really say these are strides we’ve made? (that we have made)
