On His way as the day declined,Em seu caminho ao declinar do dia,
Jesus entered a humble village.Jesus entrou em uma humilde aldeia.
And in the home of Martha and Mary,E no lar de Marta e Maria,
He stayed to have supper!Se hospedou para tomar a ceia!

What a privilege they had,Que privilégio, elas tiveram,
To dine there with the Master!De ali com o Mestre poder cear!
To touch His hands and hear His voice,Em Suas mãos poder tocar e Sua voz escutar,
But this day will come for us!Mas este dia, para nós, vai chegar!

Martha then felt upset and complained,Marta então sentida, reclamou,
Because she was preparing the supper alone.Porque a ceia sozinha preparava.
And Mary at Jesus' feet,E Maria aos pés de Jesus,
Listened attentively to what He was saying!Ouvia, atenta, o que Ele falava!

What a privilege they had,Que privilégio, elas tiveram,
To dine there with the Master!De ali com o Mestre poder cear!

Jesus then spoke to Martha:Jesus então falou a Marta:
"Why are you worried about the things of this life?""Porque estás com as coisas desta vida preocupada?"
For Mary has chosen the good part,Pois Maria escolheu a boa parte,
Which will never be taken from her!Que dela, jamais será tirada!

What a privilege they had,Que privilégio, elas tiveram,
To dine there with the Master!De ali com o Mestre poder cear!
