Restless

I'm lying here,
And I can get no sleep.
My mind is running in circles,
But I don't know why.
I try to find the reason,
But where should I start?
Silence surrounds me,
Inner chaos tears me up.

Time goes by, nothing changed,
My eyes are still open.
It is a cold night and the moon,
is shining through the window.
Minutes seem like hours,
In the everlasting darkness.
With every thought I have,
The situation is getting worse.

Despair spreads out over myself,
Maybe I'm just dreaming.
I cannot decide anymore,
What's reality and what's imagination.
I sweat, taking a deep breath,
My heart beats terribly against my chest.
I'm lying stiff on my back,
Holding me tight at the sheet.
