Exposed In Darkness

Fade daylight away as we become slaved to our humanity,
As human decay chips away at all we claim to be
Lifeless in chains without escape from (this) brutality
Dark, twisted fate, night is supposed to bring tranquillity

You can't escape me, I'm inside you, You can't erase me, I am your will
Close my eyes to confront my lies this sweet tranquil night, the time to face what's inside...
Praying to skies but emptiness and distrust are answering
Holding onto a lie to revel in disgust for eternity

No lies, just cries, so drown yourself in pointless and pathetic tears..

Walking through years without an escape, never knowing true pride... Dreading this night
When without light I am exposed for what I am (and what I've done...) I drove myself away...

The mind contains only finite strength,
And when all that is spent,
We retreat into cowardice for safety...
