Leaving and grieving about faces and places
That I have known and been shown in my day
It hurts so bad sometimes to say those last good-byes
Sometimes a tear is all I have to say

It seems to me that heartache and pain
Keep trying to get me to doubt
And when it hurts so bad to think of love I had
I remember what this life's about

When push comes to shove
I stand at the cross
And sing to the Love who suffered my loss
And the Dove turns to say . . .
"The Son will shine brighter one day"

When I've put my heart into the care
Of someone I know or somewhere that I've been
When it's time to go away there is despair
And I wonder if I'll ever love again

Then I recount the memories that love brought my way
And I know they were just meant to be
After all there is only one place that I'll stay for Eternity
